THE JEWEL STARFISH FOUNDATION, THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, SUG-FBC, AWARDS TUITION GRANTS TO FEMALE STUDENTS
The Ministry of Education, Students' Union Government, Fourah Bay College has, in an event held at its building on campus, awarded tuition grants to deserving female students from different departments at the college.
The partial tuition grant, which came through the support of the Jewel Starfish Foundation, a Liberian-based organization owned by the honorable Vice President of Liberia, was awarded to 25 students this year. This number includes those sets of students that benefited from the maiden program in 2020.
The Deputy Registrar, in his statement, urged the beneficiaries of the grant to commit themselves to their academic work and to ensure that they make a difference on campus. He encouraged them to live up to the expectation of H.E. Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor by simply making sure that they become the change that the world and Sierra Leone specifically truly need.
Our partners from STEM POWER Africa provided enough equipment for 2 fully equipped STEM LABS. The first lab is at the Roslyn K. Toweh Stem Hub, located at the YWCA HQ. The second is the Jewel Howard Taylor Stem Hub located at the Bong County Technical College.
Liberia can now boast of 2 Stem Hubs for the use of our young people. We hope that they will be the first of many more across the nation.

The JSF beneficiaries in Malawi gathered on Tuesday, October 10 to give God the glory for opportunities received from the Jewel Star Fish Foundation for the past 3 years. They also sent a shout out to the Foundation's Founder - Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor to say a special thank you for her support.
