The JSF Scholarship empowers girls with a clear commitment to education and the betterment of society in their communities. Through the scholarship, the girls are equipped with all necessary tools to create a healthy study environment for them in their respective institutions. They are pushed towards the right direction in life, as they are encouraged to channel their thoughts to be solution seekers and innovators who apply their minds to complex issues occurring globally.
Participating in the scholarship, the girls become a family as JSF beneficiaries and create long lasting sisterhood relationships. The need for working together and join forces when facing issues is overly emphasized at JSF.
How To Join The Scholarship
Selection into the scholarship is based on a variety of factors, the most prominent one being girls from impoverished families and do not have financial means to further their education. The Foundation also affords education opportunities to victims of sexual and gender-based violence. Girls from slum communities are amongst those who are also prioritized for the scholarship. They are then placed in their respective institutions of education where their fees are taken care of by the foundation. This automatically qualifies them into the mentorship program in which is driven by H.E. Vice President Chief Dr Jewel Howard-Taylor.
Grade Requirement: B Average of Above
Upon the completion of the scholarship, beneficiaries then:
• Enter the working sector in which they apply their knowledge gathered from their institutions of learning and the Foundation.
• Included in activities of the Foundation to have their opinions on how best JSF could implement its policies.
Some components of the scholarship are:
• Orientation into the scholarship in which the state of readiness of the beneficiaries is assessed. A graduation celebration for each class.
• Leadership workshops and dialogues created to accelerate beneficiaries’ ability to express their views on various matters.
• Networking with industry leaders who will be invited to participate in programs.
